Not much. Bill Clinton won big because he was seen as centerist. I don't see too much centerist action in the present crop.
Do Democrats have any ideas period? The only idea I've seen them have is bash Bush. The last time I read the Constitution Bush can't run again. His Dad could but he can't.

Continue with the playbook they've been using for the past 15 years. The goal is 8 more years of Clinton, if not Bill, then Hillary.
The Clinton machine was never fully supportive of Gore or Kerry, and in many ways actually worked against Kerry.
The Clinton's are many things, but short sighted is certainly NOT one of them. Hillary, along with Bill have been planning the road back to the white house long before they ever left it. The reason that Hillary has the solid support she does is that they have planted and nurtured their Marxist ideas somewhat like a farmer raises corn. The hardcore Libs are the product of the Clinton machine, where most politicians are the product of the group they represent.
It is my belief that the "old school Democrats are not in the Hillary camp, because there are definitely two distinct classes of Democrats.

Lie about a terrible economy? It was pretty bad. And the price of gasoline is part of the cause for the housing market. When gas prices double, that comes into play when you calculated your budget before buying a house. That, plus the cost of everything else rising 40% due to higher shipping costs of goods. To answer your question, they don't need to learn anything. The republicans have committed suicide over the past 7 years.

They are completely different
Gore or Ozone boy as the Bush family call him. Was completely naive. He had no Idea that the Baker Law firm had already prepared a Legal Brief and had a docket date set with the Supreme Court.
That isn't a crime but an indicator of the veracity the Bush family had. I also admire the GOP organizational skills to have 7500 pre paid air fare to Florida so activists could rush to the scene if needed.
All this shows Gore was simply playing a different game with different rules than the Bush Family was playing.
As for Kerry. He was never a viable candidate just a Fraternity brother helping Bush get reelected. The timing on his last minute Dumb Soldier comment was perfect. Even Democrats dropped him in the last week.
The first election Bush won by superior election management
The second was a bit conspiratorial but not against any laws.

They really haven't learned a thing. Notice how the Yahoo liberals have started ranting about the republicans instead of answering your question? This is exactly what the democratic leaders have done. They avoid answering the questions put to them and go off on another tangent. It's the typical flip flop of the left.

Thankfully they have learned nothing...
And to "Mr. Morden", have they learned that the popular vote isn't how you win? If they had known before they might have had a shot at winning. Electoral college votes are how you win... its been in the constitution for a long time... they should read it.
oh and Bush is the first candidate to win over 50% of the popular vote in 2004, since another candadit did it in1988... and who was it who did that? You loonie liberals will never learn.

Perhaps nothing. Bush stole the election in Florida and probably in Ohio.Their response was very weak. They must not allow Republicans to intimidate minorities and Democrats at the polls, to fight legislation requiring picture ID's to vote and allow individuals who are pending trial, or on parole and probation, among other things to vote. Also serious consideration should be given to allowing permanent non-citizen residents to vote in local elections. Lastly gerrymandering has been a source of political bias and should be approached in a non-partisan manner.

The thing we've learned is to immediately debunk the lies and slander about our service records or misquotes taken out of context about inventing the Internet. We know Republicans lie and play dirty politics and lie in order to win. We need to call them on their BS.
As far as the price of gasoline there is an energy bill in Congress. We need to become less dependent on foreign oil by improving mileage and developing alternative energy sources and transportation options. We can do this mainly with market incentives, though some regulation will be necessary.
There are several proposals to solve the housing loan crises. One bill would allow certain borrowers who are 60 days or more behind on their payments to withdraw up to $100,000 penalty-free from their retirement accounts. The funds could be used to bring their loans current to avoid foreclosure, or refinance into a more affordable loan. Another key piece of legislation is aimed at fixing the mess in the mortgage market. The bill would ban all forms of lender or broker interference in appraisers' valuations, and would require high-cost, subprime mortgages to carry escrow accounts to handle property tax and insurance payments. The bill would also require all mortgage loan officers to be licensed and registered, and would require them to be certain that loan applicants have the financial ability to repay the amount they are borrowing.

1, the person with the most votes doesn't always become president and 2, if the republicans line about the Dem candidate, the Dem should respond immediately.
