When I had my period (around 5 days late), I was in excruciating pain. When I was on the toilet, it was extremely gloppy and there were two large glops of goo (yea, haha, my words) but they had grayish/purplish goop in the them, and some white stuff. It was really gross, and when I was done (after about 2 hours), I felt like I was going to pass out. I could barely walk and I was so light-headed.

I was told that you don't have tremendous pain when you miscarry, but I've never had a period like this before. If it was a miscarraige, it would make sense because of the timing when my fiance and I had intercourse.

I was also told that you bleed for a long time, but I'm barely bleeding and it's been 7 days (which is still a longer than usual, I usually have it for 5 days). I don't have health insurance, and I feel fine. I just don't know if I should set up an appointment with planned parenthood or something. Please give me your input! Thank you!

Also, my roommate tells me that I could also be pregnant. She said she was pregnant and still had her period, but it was really gloppy and heavy like mine. Could this also be a possibility?

Not all women who miscarry have pain and cramping. It is a myth that it is always very painful. For some women, there is no cramping at all, or only slight discomfort. For others, a miscarriage feels like labor pains, very excruciating.

The bleeding ranges from light to heavy.

The whole process may take one day or may last several days, and some women experience light bleeding up to a week after. Experiencing light-headedness and dizziness are signs of a miscarriage so it's very possible.

It IS possible to miscarry without much, if any, bleeding, as the embryo can be reabsorbed into the body.

I would make an appointment with a medical doctor - not a planned parenthood clinic. If you did miscarry they will want to make sure the entire pregnancy was expelled to eliminate the risk of infection or complications.

All the best to you....and if you lost a baby my sympathies, hon.

I miscarried in Jan 08 and it's devastating when you want a baby so much. You honestly just have to believe that baby wasn't meant to be and stay positive you will have another. Unfortunately there is a 1 in 4 chance every time you get pregnant that you will miscarry so you most likley had bad luck. Have faith and try again when ready. My husband and I decided that it would make us happy to be pregnant again and conceived the very next month and went on to have a healthy girl in November. Good luck and just know it gets better.

It's possible, and it does sound like it. I had a m/c in September and though mine was very painful, your 'glops of goo' and what you saw, is pretty much what I experienced. Plus, I didn't bleed for long afterwards. Take a home test to confirm whether or not you're pregnant.

You could take a pregnancy test--I tested positive for a while after my miscarriage. You should go to the hospital/free clinic, and get checked out. You may not have passed all the tissue, which could result in infection. Or, you could monitor with a pregnancy test every week or so. If the levels fall back to normal, chances are you're fine. Sorry for your loss!

I have had 6 pregnauncies. 5 miscarriages and 1 full term pregnancy. It sounds to me like you did have a miscarriage. IMHO, I think you should see a Dr.....even if it's at your local P. Parenthood.... There could still be stuff inside that didn't get washed out. AND there could be a second embryo/fetus! Go in and get checked out.... It's best to be on the safe side.

i would get checked out just to be on the safe side it could be something and nothing.
And to say m/c dont hurt well when i m/c i had all the pain relief i could have because it thought the pain was going to kill me ( I was 10wks pregnant) but when i had my son 7yrs ago i did it all natural no pain relief at all so it just goes to show that it doe's hurt some times (well it certainly did for me). But i know i could go through labour again with out pain relief
