so i tend to inform people of possible side effects & risks that i've come across in my own research, not to scare them away from anything, but to answer their question as fully as possible. (and i always post sources, so it's not like i'm making them up!)
i don't try to push anyone into anything, nor do i condemn or judge, i just give facts, & wish them good luck in *their* decisions. is there something WRONG with that??
i know that *I* want all the information possible to make a fully informed decision, esp when it may effect my baby! i want to *KNOW* what might happen, so i can fully & realistically weigh *all* the options.
why is it that some people on here seem to like to stay ignorant (and/or keep others ignorant) of any potential side effects or risks associated with anything???

This annoys me the most!!! People are ignorant and narrow minded, that's the only conclusion I have.
I'm still trying to figure this one out: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AssWV2_56h7K5rt2XNPrOf3ty6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20071114065313AAvwUbz&show=7#profile-info-MVgm17o3aa

I completely agree with you. I asked a question not to long ago and I got some really informative answers none of them were rude or insulting and I did pick a best answer and gave everyone else thumbs up. I think unless someone is giving really bad information you don't give them the thumbs down. Not everything works for the same people just because you have a different view you shouldn't be viewed as "wrong" (eg- the thumbs down ). Then I seen the other day on a baby name question people giving thumbs down to people who picked the name they didn't like, it is beyond me why people do this. Maybe it is a control issue. Everyone has opinions and unless they are being truely unreasonable others opinions need to be respected too. ---At least that is MY opinion......

I am so glad you asked this question! Sometimes I swear they should have two different forums: Yahoo Answers and Yahoo Reassurances. Often it seems, if you don't completely agree with the tone of the questioner's question, you get a thumb's down. I think sometimes people think this is supposed to be a support group without any truth. Just support what the person is implying or wanting, and that will give you a thumb's up. Please, continue to answer truthfully and with facts. That is what this forum should be about. I do the same thing and I am quite shocked sometimes when I get a thumb's down. If you're not being rude or inaccurate, you shouldn't get a thumb's down.

Because a lot of people on here are stuck in their own mindsets and are not willing to accept that someone else's opinion or knowledge may be a little better.. so giving someone a "thumbs down" is their way of saying "I'm right and you're wrong".. It really is silly.. I only give a thumbs down to people who are acting stupid or saying something ugly.. other than that I respect that other people may know more or different than I do.

lots of folk at right here are not attracted to data!.........as obvious via the nonsensical solutions that get each and every of the thumbs up! Others are merely recommend lively. often this is in basic terms a loss of admire for others. i do no longer know if i've got faith in extraterrestrial beings or no longer, yet i'm an embalmer and function worked with the lifeless for over two decades and that i've got in no way experienced something that would make me have faith in ghosts.

It might not be the questioner giving you the thumbs down. You might have an enemy.
I have a regular fan club in one section. If the question is "Where does the sun rise in the morning?" and I say "The east", I'll get at least two thumbs down.
What they don't realize is that it amuses me. I know who they are. :D
Edit: SPEAKING of amusing---I just got BLOCKED from a question, for saying Hitler was a bad artist (and believe me, he was). Man, the things that some people get upset about...but now, I can't see just how many thumbs-down I got for knocking Der Fuhrer's paintings.

Because unfortunately people can be very immature and if you aren't saying something that they agree with or want to hear then they take it out on you by doing the only thing they can. I agree, it's completely uncalled for to give someone a thumbs down when they are just stating their own opinion( when it's asked) or giving reasonable information.

Most people don't like hearing the truth because they don't want to do it or they don't want to realize how ignorant they are. Ignore the thumbs down. All you can do is help out if you like and if they don't want to listen then hey, that's there problem. Good job on giving good advice hon! Keep up the good work =]

some people are just weird and feel in control by doing thumbs down and up,,,,just don't take much serious on here .You find jerks all over the place ,,but some actually do want to let you know they do not believe your answer ,,,EVEN if it is a fact,,just proves how strange it can be here...JUST have fun and don't worry about what others do ..

More often they just want reassurance for decisions already made. But even with research on teh internet you will find conflicting information so ti all comes down to still beign opinions.
