There is this site that contains information in a foreign language. But on my laptop the characters don't show up, only little square boxes? I am wondering why I can read the site on my PC but not my laptop.

Try using the Translate feature on Google, to the right of the search bar.

Or try a different browser, like Firefox, Internet Explorer could be the culprit.

your laptop simply doesn't know how to make the characters. like right now you're able to read this because when i type an "r" and post it, it get encypted on a server. then when you access this post, the server tells your computer what to put on the screen. the "r" that was typed is sent through binary code from the sever to your computer. if your computer understands the binary code, it will display the "r." if it doesn't, you see boxes that show the computer didn't understand. (hey you down there. yeah, mr. "top contributer," that won't work because you need to know what language it's in. then again, if she does know the language it's in,) do you?
