Someone tried telling me that this is true. I see where they had a study that said it 'may' cause it but nothing even close to conclusive. Anyone support or oppose this study? Just curious, my wife believes it because her mother told her it was true who is Jehova's Witness. I think she's just overly paranoid and quite obviously subject to misdirection through words.

Jehovah's Witnesses believe that no individual can blame another for his choice to practice fornication (heterosexual or homosexual). The bible does not teach that a particular wash or lotion causes one to become homosexual, but does teach that one can control his urges if he wishes and seeks God's help.

Increases in estrogen or an estrogen to testosterone imbalance are the primary factors behind gynecomastia. If you are a young person undergoing puberty hormone surges are normal and the lumps will probably clear up on their own. Abusing anabolic steroids as well as specific medicines such as Finasteride are common causes for men. Surgical treatment is the main choice if the gynecomastia is really bad. Be careful deciding on a cosmetic surgeon do a lot of research. If you have a more mild case or you got it recently you might be able to eliminate it on your own. The most effective way is the use of a topical DHT gel together with supps which reduce levels of estrogen naturally. For some good information about this look into the kosweizer protocol.

Lavender is soothing. You can't "make" someone gay or feminine. I did find a source that said lavender and tea oil caused gynecomastia in 3 boys. 3 is a very small number. I would check the package because a lot of these product don't actually contain the "oil"; it's an artificial scent. Sounds to me like a mountain out of a mole hill.

Even a good-hearted person can be an idiot. Lavender is a SCENT, like Vanilla, etc., IT CANNOT make someone gay, straight or bisexual (EVER).
While not everyone agrees over "what makes you gay" or whether "your born that way," a flower and scent such as Lavender CANNOT MAKE YOU GAY OR GIVE MEN BREASTS (GYNOCOMASTIA). If that were true, every small breasted woman would be rubbing Lavender on their breasts instead of having Plastic Surgery!
Your Mother-in-law (while well-meaning is terribly misinformed). My mother is a JW and would never think that, roflmao. HOWEVER, the COLOR LAVENDER is representative of the Gay culture, there is even a Lavender University for gays (hey, we just like the COLOR). : ) So, she may have confused the Lavender COLOR with the Scent/Flower.

There is some misguided truth in this. Supposedly Lavender Oils 'mimic hormones'. And in some very very rare cases has been linked to Gynaecomastia. But in no way does it say that it leads to making your child gay or feminine.
There is an article on this at the BBC
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/6318043.stm
But as you say it is not conclusive at all. And with all these things can not be taken to seriously. It only feels like every week that 'they' say some other every day thing that will give you that or give you this....if you believed it all you'd never leave the house.

LMAO, KJ said poppycock. I love that word. Don't ask me why!
That is the biggest load I have ever heard. A sent cannot make someone gay. It does however make you sleepy. If that was the case there wouldn't be any straight people cause mom used the lavender too much to get them to sleep. What will they come up with next?

lavender baby wash is used as a calming thing. I bathed my son in it many many times, and he runs around every summer refusing to wear shorts cuz they're for girls. How a child grows up with those little difference is beyond me, be it their own personal choice or their environment, it's definitely not because of a body wash. Babies have tender skin, strong scented lotions and soaps can cause rashes, allergic reactions and even effect their breathing if it's strong enough.

Gay men do love the smell of lavender, so you might be onto something, but it's probably not the cause and more likely the effect.
Being gay makes you love lavender and not the other way round.
And if you and your wife worry about turning your kid gay, you'll probably do more damage. Kids tend to rebel against whatever you make taboo.

It doesn't make them gay. Would walking by while a girl sprayed perfume and you got hit make you gay? Lavender baby soap (usually packaged as a bedtime baby bath) has a very soothing sent that will generally help calm a baby and help thim sleep. Soap making someone gay. Thats hilarious. Just thinking about how many times my husband has run out of his soap and has to use my sweet pea and lavender body wash. Absolutely hilarious. BTW- if you do have a link to that study, would you mind emailing it to me? I would love to read it.

There is no way that using a certain scented bath wash would make your kids gay or feminine. Being gay is in your genetic makeup and has nothing to do with what your mom bathed you with!
