Stay as a room mate in an apartment or house that has the rent, bills etc in the other person's name and is not too close to where you're living currently (make sure it isn't a friend of your's, people will look there first). Don't have anything where they can track you through paperwork, such as credit cards, bank account, cell phone, driver's licence. Also, if you have a job, have a self-employed job where you work for cash only. Or get a job with somebody you trust that can hire you with no documentation and pays cash. Don't send in any tax returns etc. If you use the computer at all, use someone elses. This should get you started on dissappearing. One other way is to move frequently so by the time they find out were you "are" you're already gone (with no forwarding address of course). It is getting hard enough to hide now, that it's is probably easier to stay out of trouble in the first place.

Easy if you have a lot of cash: cross into Canada by foot or unguarded road (harder to find) and don't ever give a government ID or credit card to anyone. Pay cash for everything. Get a long-term condo/house rental for the time you will stay (pay cash in advance). When people ask for referrals: women: "I am hiding from my abusive ex-husband, how much security deposit would make you feel comfortable with me being here.", men: "I just got taken to the cleaner byme ex-wife and my credit is for ****, how much security deposit would make you feel comfortable with me being here.". Sit tight and count the days.

That's kind of hard to do, no job except under the table, so no social security number out there, cash only no credit cards, no car , its better to live in the woods and live off the land

Canada or Mexico are your choices. Sure, they have extradition laws, but you probably haven't done anything too bad if it's only for a year and a half.

Go somewhere completely unexpected, don't use credit cards...only cash, try to get a job off the books, and don't contact anyone.
