Depends who you know and how much cash you got. If uncontested, up to 3 months, contested, 6mths to 2yrs. In Dominican Republic, same day services. Nevada, fm 3mths to 9mths contested. Since the kids are legal adults, the bartering will be between the assets and the spouse's willingness to split them. Again, depends on how much the spouses are willing to agree amicably.

I'm guessing that since the kids are almost 20, you've been married to this guy for at least 20 years. Must be he's kinda okay to have made a life with him for this long a time. I'm against throw away marriages and my suggestion is put a label on what your problems really are and address them. If you're comfortable going to you pastor with this, please do it now. He will be there for you. If you're not in church find a marriage counselor. Take a long hard look at this before you jump. My first impulse, as far as my marriage is concerned, is to fight for it. Fight for comfort in it and keep it a shining light for my kids and friends. Good luck S and God bless you and your precious family.

First you get a lawyer to protect your interests and everything you own, if the two of you agree to who gets what, it will make this mess a lot easier. your kids are adults now so they are out of the picture. As of this week I'm finally divorced, was married for 33 years, had the good life. the Ex fought me every inch of the way, which cost me more money,..$30,000 his bills were over $90,000 this was in court for 26 months. If I can answer any questions, email me, best to you.

I can only speak of my own experience. We were married 3 years, had a house, but no kids. It took about a year form start to finish (only because my ex was an a$$ ... it can go much more quickly if you are willing to agree on things) and it cost me $1000 to retain an attorney. (The attorney was a friend, so I was not charged any additional fees, since we only had to appear in court twice.)
