I don't think that you have any idea of what the flag really stands for. All that you can do is spew crap!
Since the KKK abused the American flag as well does this mean that it should be considered a symbol of racism too?
Should the same American flag that flew above the burning of a cross in a black mans yard be allowed to fly above our nations capitol?

I agree, the Confederate flag is a symbol of the old south. Most people who fly the flag today are glorifying a culture of hatred and racism. If it's about heritage why not just display the American Flag.

It's the same as shouting the N word. It belongs in a museum...If they want to fly it they are seporatists and better be willing to fight for it. It's a defeated flag and they need to realize it. It's no different than that guy in Nevada who flew a Mexican flag over an American flag. Flying a nazi flag is legal, does that mean it's ethical?

I think the KKK is much more a symbol of slavery than a red white and blue flag symbolizing the southern states.
I dont undrstand the bleeding heart philosophy about it because if it is SSOOOOO utterly outraging!!!! Why would it be acceptable in a museum? The narrowminded media outlets and Bias have quite obviously duped you into thinking its so terrible but still good?
If you dont believe a question why post it? And if you cant believe a question more than half@ssed, better go decide how you really feel about the issue.

I went to the University of Mississippi and to most it is considered the school flag. I used to think it was just my school flag, it was no big deal, mind your own business. Then I realized I was the one spreading hate. The flag was being used by to many groups like the KKK that I didn't want to be associated with. So I stopped waving it. It's just a piece of cloth, it's not worth all the bad emotions it stirs up.

i'm a Northerner. The accomplice flag is a factor of the historic previous of the South. and that i consider them, that in case you do no longer like it, get out. it particularly is been grew to become right into a logo of racism by ability of people who do no longer like it. in case you do no longer like it, then have Congress bypass a regulation, like Germany did after WWII, that bans the reveal of the flag (in Germany's case, the Nazi flag) in case you think it particularly is going to be banned, i won't be in a position to stop you. it particularly is your suited as an American Citizen.

Great question.
I used to view it as a symbol of racism and hate. Until I spent some time in the deep south. It is actualy a symbol of heritage and pride to most southerners. A tribute to the men who died in the war.
Do you also view the German or Japanees flags as a symbol of hate? The war is over.
Also, you need to do some reading if you think the Civil War was about slavery.

The swastika is an ancient Tibetan religious symbol. But since Hitler coopted it into a symbol of evil and hate, nobody defends its use. However you feel personally about the confederate flag, you must realize that for millions of people it stands for a system that brutally enslaved, tortured and murdered millions of people. If you're really willing to dismiss their feelings, what can you expect from them but rage?

Flying it is protected by The First Amendment, so if someone wants to fly it, more power to them.
The US flag is the only one I fly.

It is a symbol of defeat since they lost, but not racism since Native Americans, freed blacks and Mexicans served in the Confederate military.
