we have a bathroom on the second floor that has a domed plexiglas sky lite every time some one takes a shower on a humid day the sky lite will form beads of condensation on the inside. The condensation forms and follows the plexiglas down to the drywall and causes the drywall tape to peel off all of the inside corners, there is no trim between the drywall and the skylite. Please help me find a way to eliminate this problem. The sky lite does not leak from the outside it is only the condensation that is causing our dilema. The ceiling in the bathroom is a cathedral ceiling.

make sure you have a fart fan that works, first. is the vent duct connected? is it clogged or working? install a timer switch for it or a moisture sensor switch, to let it run longer so it gets more moisture out of the air. maybe get a larger capacity fan, like a 70 cfm or higher type. you could also install some trim to serve as a drip edge for the area. or replace the skylite with a better upgrade.

Make sure your exhaust fan is conected to a duct that exits the house. If it is make sure it is not plugged. You may also need to upgrade to a fan that has a larger CFM output. It will move more air per minute. It is important thought that the fan is vented correctly.

The problem is that the skylight is the coldest spot. It should be a double pane to give some insulation. A fan blowing on it would help.
