In theory this sounds like a good idea. In my personal experience it is more complicated than that. Human beings develop attachments even when there is no intention of doing so. We're just wired that way. Attachments, by their very nature, change the rules of a mutually beneficial relationship. It either evolves into another type of relationship or dissolves, and hopefully no one is hurt by either outcome.
