SNAT cames from source network address translation.
When a nat router receive a connection initialisation packet (SYN), it put into a table source address of the packet, source port, destination address and destination port. Then it send the packet to it's destination whith source address of the router (in fact, can be other source ip).
when the response arrives,it search into the table and find for what ip the packet is,and send it to the original ip.
