I will agree that he has the best arm in the NFL, better than Brady, but he is not as smart or patient. Last weeks game against San Diego just proved how good Manning is without Harrison and Clark. Brady lost both his starting receivers last year and unlike Manning, he did not have a Pro-bowl receiver like Wayne. This looks like another statement but my question is the following, why doesn't anyone acknowledge his receivers make a huge difference? Brady had to throw to Caldwell, a third-string receiver and changed receivers mid-season. Call it what you want, but Manning still has better recevers this year then Brady had last year even with the injuries. I like Brady more as you can tell, but even I know you can't compare him to being as good as Marino. Same goes for Peyton, he is good, but not as good as Marino.

For starters, there is no smarter quarterback in the NFL than Peyton Manning.

Also, you're ignoring something of equal importance to wide recievers - offensive lines. Peyton had a 3rd stringer blocking his blindside against two of the best pass rushing OLB's in the league. Of course he was set up for disaster. It was raining, and his "pro bowl" reciever didn't make an effort to fight for footballs that were up for grabs. He also only had 3 WR's on his roster.... and one of them got injured.

Also, according to your logic, Donovan McNabb must be the best QB in the NFL because with the exception of the TO year, he never had a reciever who could hold a candle to either Peyton or Brady's WRs.

Manning had one bad game. I'm sick of this who's better argument. Both are great, great qb's, and are clearly head and shoulders above anyone else. Who is better? There will never be a clear answer for this. Not unless they switch teams right now and then replay the first half of the season in the same situations.... which obviously will never happen.

So get off Brady's jock and just admit that they are about equally talented.

2-3 interceptions is an off game... 6 picks is just showing true colors when your future hall of fame receiving core is injured.

Well maybe thats a little harsh but really, I'm a Colts fan and even I think Peyton Manning is just a little overrated. Peyton Manning IMO is the smartest quarterback in the league and has the best arm I've seen since... well never. Tom Brady edges Manning in the fact that he is a more patient quarterback and is rock hard under pressure, while Manning will become frustrated and try to force plays that just aren't there... example being his 6 interceptions against San Diego when he knew that he didn't have the receivers to make those kind of plays. Peyton Manning is viewed the way he is because he's an enigma to the rest of the NFL, he can do things that no other quarterback can do, the man is machine at the line of scrimmage. No matter what kind of defense you try to run at him, or try to make it look like you're going to run at him... he knows exactly what you're doing. Peyton Manning has made the Colts what they are today, there is a reason Indy drafted him with the first overall pick... because they SUCKED before Manning took over under center. Yeah Harrison, Wayne, and Clark are all amazing players, but I don't think even Tom Brady could do what Manning has in Indy. The Colts are always a playoff threat no matter what and would have even come back from a 23-7 deficit and beat the Chargers had Vinatieri not missed that field goal, why... because of Peyton Manning.

Your statement is bogus to say the least! First of all, The recievers that Brady had last season are alot better than you claim! And Peyton not as good as Marino? How many superbowl rings does Marino have? And I do recall a couple of years ago when Brady had some quality recievers! Guess what? He threw 4 interceptions and lost 40 - 21 to the Colts whos defense at the time was one of the leagues worst! Its clear you don't no much about football. Stating that Peyton Manning is "overrated" is a sign that your knowledge of football is not very good!

ill bet there are about 25 teams in the NFL right now that would rather have Peyton Manning as their Quarterback then the 1 they have right now .

You have to look up the definition of the word Over-rated
Peyton is far from being over-rated his numbers prove he is a premiere Quarterback in this league so what he has 1 championship , the Colts have a better chance to win another 1 with him back there calling the plays.

Im a Pats fan but im also a football fan i dont pump my chest because my team is on top right now i know where my team came from .

And to be completely honest with you i dont think Tom Brady would have been successful in any other Program ,he fits the Patriots system .

dude you are beating a dead horse with this one. Evey one but us just hates the patriots and tom Brady. as a previous question has told us some steelers fans hate Brady more than osama bin laden but that's another conversation.

for years everyone was all about manning over Brady, pointing to his ridiculous numbers compared with Brady's solid, but not great numbers. all that time no mention of edgerrin james vs. antoine smith, marvin harrison vs. troy brown, reggie wayne vs.............bethel johnson? now that Brady has the weapons all i hear is that his numbers are solely due to the players around him. now why didn't anyone say that about manning all those years and why aren't they saying it now that he is playing like crap without them (he still has addai and wayne so i really wish they would stop making excuses for the guy).

bottom line is that everyone hates tom Brady and wants him to suffer a career ending injury or die in a car accident. its horrible but its true. They will never give him credit for anything and will go out of their way to discredit his accomplishments. Manning on the other hand is their darling and could never do any wrong.

I would never compare Marino to any modern QB. You compare Young with Marino, not Peyton or Brady. As for the Overrated QB of today, I think that Peyton doesn't put tags on himself to be the best, fans and announcers put them there. He has a great passing game when he is on, however, Peyton is like Palmer it is a coin toss whether they are going to be at the game or not.

Peyton had ONE BAD GAME and you are totally writing him off. It is more then a bias for Brady. It is a hatred of Manning as well. I don't like Manning, I'm sick of seeing him everywhere all the time. I do respect his ability though. I don't think it is all the WRs though. Yeah Harrison is good, but so are almost all WRs who have it put between the numbers on most passes. When has Harrison, Wayne, or Clark been going chasing the balls? In Indy it is basically a two way street. Peyton is good because he has good receivers that he is making look good.

Peyton was playing will half a deck against the Chargers and there really wasn't any rhythm or continuity with all the new faces at the wr and te positions. He had an off game because of it. It happens.

He still as good as he ever was.

Well to tell the truth. I belive that every great quarterback is a little over rated. Without the top receivers they have and there good offensive line they have to protect them, they are nothing. I mean those quarterbacks are good, but they have alot of help making them great.

So he had a bad game against the Chargers, and a close loss to the Patriots. Big deal. Every quarterback has a bad game here and there. Doesn't make him overrated or anything, it makes him human. That's also the first time in his career that he has thrown that many interceptions in a game. So I doubt you'll see that many in a game from him for the rest of his career.
