Fun! I had a squirrel in my bathtub once...
Call animal control and ask if they will relocate the raccoon rather than putting him down. If not, most do have humane traps they will let you borrow. You can trap him and take him elsewhere yourself.
You could also try this: close off all doors except the bathroom, open an outside door, and leave a trail of small treats (banana slices, maybe?) outside the bathroom to lure him out. Stay out of the way, because raccoons can get aggressive.

1. Shut your bathroom door and cross your fingers that he doesn't destroy the room!
2. Go to a feed store, sporting goods store, maybe even wal-mart and get a live animal trap.
3. Follow the directions on the trap, put some meat or veggies in it and quickly slip it into the bathroom, opening the door as little as possible.
4. Wait till you hear the trap shut and get a friend or neightbor to help you release him outside- wear gloves and move quickly!
5. Whatever you do don't touch him, or make a shhhh, sound.... they hate that b/c it reminds them of snakes and he'll prob. attack you!
Good luck... be careful, but don't get too scared... he's prob wondering where the heck he is too!!!

Don't touch it.
Call animal control- they'd only put it down if it were diseased. And even if it was, don't you think it would be happier dead than in pain?
If it's healthy, they won't kill it.
That's just cruel.
Also, find out how it got in there.
If it was through a window or the front door, close/fix it to prevent future invaders.

Call animal control. They will send a live trap and relocate the animal. He may be cute but do not try and pet him or trap him yourself. They can be aggressive.

Call animal control. If the raccoon is not exhibiting signs of rabies, they will live trap it and set it free in a less residential area.
