Because the car was bought for his father and it was like a gift for him because he sold his house to aid homer to buy the one in what he and his family live after two weeks Homer sends his father to the asylum and "recovers" the pink Car so It was not for him at the begining as I told and because it was a Gift the color does not matter at all

I never really thought about that.... Maybe he is very feminine and she is very fiery.... lol. Although that is not portrayed in the series.
