I cant understand why people would want to join things like facebook and bebo etc. Why would you want "fake" friends? Can someone enlighten me and then maybe i might consider joining!

I like Facebook because it's an easy way to stay in touch with my old college friends. It's gotten really ridiculous now though with all of these really goofy page applications and stuff, but for the most part it's a good way to say "what's up" without having to make a phone call or whatever.

No way!I'm a teen and I hate the fact that bebo and facebook are taking over the world, I'd rather talk with my friends in person (or, maybe over instant messenger, but only when we can't meet up) than be shoving all my private details on the www.

Why do you stereo type. You can create the pages private so you don't have fake friends. DUHHHHHHHH
It's a great way to share with you close friends the things that are happening in your life. Your not behind the times you just uncreative and judgmental about things you have no experience with.

I think its just the excitement or rush they get out of conversing with people they really don't know. I guess it could be looked at the same as having a pen pal only a more sophisticated version.

It's nice to be reaquianted with old school friends, plus I moved away from my hometown recently and it's a way of keeping in touch with people.
Use it right and it is fun.

It's fun for me because a few family members that I don't get to see very often have myspace accounts so I can communicate with them through myspace.

u can add your REAL friends, dont do the fake ones, they can end up stealing your identity and opening bank accounts online. tahts another reason not to but ppl cant keep in contact with friends too often coz mobile numbers keep changing and everyone has such a busy life nowadays, you cant keep up. one way to keep up with things i assume.

i dont use them to make fake freinds. to me theyre a way of keeping in touch with people you dont get to see very often or communication with those you do also. i believe its worthwhile

dont bother they are rubbish. real life is more interesting and entertaining than communicating with a bunch of people you dont know from adam. and yes i do realise how hypocritical that sounds when i'm answering a question from someone i don't even know.
