Because these things are treated like the Olympics. If there were more of these, it won't sell out at all. It's supply versus demand, and there just isn't enough supply.

It probably is very expensive and time consuming to set one up, there is probably a lot of planning that goes into an outdoor game as well. But if they were held more often, then the novelty of having an outdoor game would eventually wear off. but at least one to two a year would be fine, alternaiting locations everytime in the markets that could sustain an outdoor game, i.e Buffalo, Detroit, St. Paul, all of Canada. And these locations have to have an adequate venue for the event to be held, I don't think one could be held in Detroit, Ann Arbor yes. Is there a stadium in St. Paul/Minneapolis that would be suitible, it would probably have to be at the U of Minnesota.

Ever heard the expression "Too much of a good thing?" What made the outdoor game so popular was it was a rare event. If it happens all the time fans stop flocking to it and overpaying for tickets.
I expect they will have another perhaps in Ottawa or Montreal or Minnesota but, it may be a couple years away.

I agree they should have It every year, next year they should have It in New England at Gilliette Stadium between the Bruins and the Rangers outside.

Lets see if this one becomes a success first.

They lose money. Edmonton lost $200,000 on the Heritage Classic, Buffalo is currently projecting a loss of $60,000

It makes to much sense. Bettman, like Bush, is not the sharpest drill bit in the set.
