I know they say having sex can help bring on labor but i have also heard of a woman achieving an orgasm herself is just the same. I thought it had something to do with sperm? Where does masturbating fall in place? Just curious.. i dont get it..

The sperm has prostiglandins which is a natural hormone used in the induction of labor to help soften the cervix.. a woman's orgasm releases a hormone called oxytocin that helps start uterine contractions. Nipple stimulation also does this.

agghhh ok first off nipple stimulation does NOT work right now i LOVE my nipples to be touched and my partner has done it all the time threw my whole pregnancy and i am 33 weeks now and sorry no labor!!!!!

but it does produce oxytocin just like masturbation does

ok so a woman who masturbates will promote contractions but nothing effective but it will help by releasing a hormone called oxytocin

now having sex will work but only if your body is ready and that is because in the mans sperm there is something called prostaglandins which will help soften the cervix.

now for all the prudes on this site relax if you don't like masterbastion then don't read the question it is a very natural thing we all have done it or still do!!
don't you remember "discovering" yourself as a child!!!!!

I believe the orgasm alone can cause some contractions but there is something in the sperm that can trigger the cervix to ripen. I'm going on memory so I could be wrong. I went for my last check up on a Thursday and the doc told me that my cervix was still tight and high. She said to eat greasy food and have sex. I followed her instructions on the Saturday evening and I went into labor about 1am on Sunday morning. Two weeks to the day before my due date. My son arrived at about 2pm that day. Good luck!!

BTW...the greasy food was easy but the sex...LOL!! What a joke I was such a fat blimp it was hysterical!

properly i became one week and 5 days over due, i became going to be precipitated on a tuesday however the weekend in the previous it i began out strolling like loopy, having intercourse 2 or greater situations an afternoon. I even ate some atomic wings from wing provide up and what a mistake that became lol, then I had to bypass into the L&D by using fact she wasn't shifting too lots. The midwife pronounced she could provide me a sweep to objective and get issues shifting, that became at 9pm Sunday, around 7am Monday I went into hard artwork additionally had intercourse after the sweep. So I cant say which of those issues did the trick or if she became merely waiting back the two way yet you could attempt all of them and desire for the desirable. good success!

Your orgasm and his sperm both release different hormones, both of which stimulate contractions. It doesnt start labor unless labor is pending in the first place. It only encourages whats already beginning.

Nipple stimulation works wonders.

masterbating makes your uterus contract, but the sperm softens the cervix, if you ask my opinion, i tried both when i was trying to bring on my labor in feb, and neither worked...my doctor recommended walking, so my husband and i went to the mall and did some laps (walking of course, at your own pace) for about 2 hrs, and i had my son 9 hours later, you'll feel the contractions when it's really time, they'll hurt (OBVIOUSLY...BUT really really bad)...your water doesnt always break right away so time them until they're 5 min apart, then it's time to go to the hospital...GOOD LUCK!

I have heard from others that sex will make u start having contractions, but you also need to get off to have this happen so if your man gets off and you dont then it was a waste. lol but at least he got his. And im about to be 35 weeks and I have been having lots and lots of sex and well nothing i think its got to be your time ya know.. dont rush things I understand how u are probally really ready because i know i am but he/she will come when she wants.

Tried it, helps a little, it brought on stronger contractions but I did not have my daughter for 5 days after the sack session! Any form of contraction will help to induce labor, but in all reality it depends on when shes ready.....

There is no way to bring on labor~ it's an old wives tale~ I was 2 weeks over due with my daughter & tried all the tricks in the book~ I had her 12 hours before they were going to induce me. Bottom line~ that babys not comin til shes ready :)
