I am the only female in my work place; I work w/ 40 men. A few months ago I overheard a conversation between several of the guys here (you wouldn't believe some of the things I hear from them, LOL). Up until this conversation, I always thought my husband was just being "nice" when he told me that it felt the same down there after I had a vaginal birth. Now, after that conversation that I overheard... I'm 100% convinced that it really does go back to normal.
Keep in mind the size of your baby has an impact on that (I was induced a month early w/ my son due to preeclampsia so he only weighed 6lbs, 1oz). Most importantly... do your KEGELS!

It depends on the person and the delivery. I had a vaginal delivery and it was horrible - I tore REALLY bad (from my cervix almost all the way to my anus) - it took them a half an hour to stitch me up, and it took a year for me to heal. My daughter is 2 years old and I still have pain in the scar area when my husband and I have sex, and sometimes just for no reason. Our next baby is due in March, and I would rather heal from an incision on my lower abdomen than have to heal from another bad vaginal tear. That's just my own personal experience and opinion though. A lot of my friends have had c-sections, and they are back up and around doing everything they used to do by 2 weeks after they give birth. That's just my own experience though. I've also had friends who had vaginal deliveries who didn't even need stitches.
Edit: I also couldn't sit after my vaginal delivery for FOUR WHOLE WEEKS - I had to lay down or sit sideways on my hip, even at the supper table.

I think vaginal is the best way to go because C-section will leave you scarred for life while vaginal will only be temporary. Your vagina will not be stretched for life. It stretches for the the baby and then it regains it's normal size.

If C section delivery is the only way the newborn babies will be able to arrive outside fast then so be it.
Having a scar from a C-section is better then to delay the newborn's arrival.
If newborn doesn't arrive in time when he/she wants to, especially when the womb is broken that baby will have permanent brain damage and be mentally slow.
Why? Because once the womb is broken the newborn baby needs freash air to breathe.
The newborn baby was breathing as a fetus inside the sealed womb, once that's broken he?she has to come out soon.
Once out the baby will breathe, if the baby came out too late from being stuck inside the mother when her womb is broken that baby will have brain damage and be mentally slow.

It will go back to normal. Always go for a vaginal delivery. Have a c section if you have no other choice. Plus the recovery from a c section is worse. Just do your kegals after the baby comes.

C-sections are more risky, but if there are complications that warrant one, then they are *well* worth the risk!!
vaginal delivery, if possible, is better for both you & the baby.
-faster healing time (not major abdominal surgery)
-increases baby's immune & lung function
-can bond (and breastfeed if that's your plan) with baby sooner

Your vagina wont be stretched out Hun, it WILL go back to normal, I promise. lol so in saying that.. a vaginal birth is MUCH better than a c-section and less risky.

well, it is depend on the situation. i think it would be OK if you do a normal delivery( viginal delivery) if there is no life threatening on the baby. C-section is for emergency when you and your baby are not in good situation

Only have a C-section if you have too. My best friend almost died from a C-section. She needed a blood transflusion. She had lost so much blood that she passed out on the table.

Hey,
Again whats with all the negative energy with the c-sections???
A c-section is not such a big deal and in many cases SAVES the lives of women and children everywhere. Vaginal births are more likely to go WRONG than c-sections. And you are least likely to have infections etc... after a c-section than a vaginal birth.
PLEASE please get your facts right before 'scaring' ppl into not having c-sections. The stories i hear about vaginal births where women get third degree tears are much worse than a 10cm scar which fades due to time and is low so not visible when wearing low jeans and skirts.
And recovering after a c-section again PLEASE get your facts right, most women recover 99% before they even go home saying that women who have vaginal births dont recover 100% after labour, some cant even sit down properly.
Anyway this is your decision, you should talk to your husband and doctor for more advice and i advise research on the internet there are a lot of sites that explain everything!!!!
Good luck and take care!!!
