I met my boyfriend online in random Yahoo Chatrooms, we kept meeting randomly until we finally decided to add eachother. A year later he moved to my town and now we're going on 4 years of being together.
and to throw away all those negative comments...
-I very much so had a life when we were talking online. I was in theater, music and art clubs...I attended several family and friend events. And so did he.
-I was not desperate and neither was he, we just happened to meet out of boredom one morning
-Neither of us pretended to be anything we were not and therefore got to know eachother better than anybody ever could face to face. We had no choice but to talk and learn eachother.

It isn't technically cheating. Would you feel the same way if he was drawing body parts with a pencil on paper? It is the same sort of thing. If this 3D cartoon person lives far away I would not worry. I also know a lot of guys who choose females to play in games because they like to watch a girls butt running instead of a guys, and they think it is funny to take her shirt off. The real question is why are people jealous over a pretend character? There must be other issues otherwise this would not be a consideration. Why don't you create a character and see if you feel like you are cheating while playing a game? Watching a character "woo-hoo" in a game is more comical than sexy. Try it yourself and see. If you are expecting this person to give up a game they have invested a lot of time into and they obviously truly love playing it then you need to consider what you are willing to give up for them as well. Join in and play. If someone gets turned on by a movie star is that cheating? Do you snap off the TV every time you see a sexy actor? Would your S/O quit playing the game if the game gf/bf quit? Probably not.

No, but I have made friends online. Of course, there were times when I wish there could've been something more with particular persons I used to talk to online... but things between didn't work out like that. I've only met 3 people from the Internet, but only 1 is now a good friend. I've decided that I'd rather meet people in real life now.

Yes, I wouldn't say we where online bf/gf because I met her in real life before we started going out, we where online friends for a long time first.

How can someone be your bf/gf if you've never met them? Assuming that you're over the age of 13, that's just not a good look. I'd meet someone I talked to online but I wouldn't call him a bf if I'd never met him.

I met my BF online 6 years ago. We communicated for about 6 months online then finally met each other.
We now have a beautiful baby boy, a house, two dogs, two cars and two motorbikes.
And we all lived happily ever after...
It can happen to anyone. Love is love no matter where you meet them. And I'm glad I met and got to know him online rather than meeting him drunk in some pub

This depends on how old you are but if you are over the age of about 15 then you need to meet someone you know face to face! If you're younger then I understand cause its good to get a bit of attention but online 'romances' are never good. You probably wont meet them and you just get too attatched to nothing. I've never met a random off the internet and I wouldn't advise it.
