It is really a three prong problem
1. Those who get degrees in stuff like Art History and things of that nature get what they deserve. Those are just pieces of paper to be put on the wall. I hate to say this, but I DO AGREE WITH PARENTS WHO SAY YOU SHOULDN'T/CAN'T GET A DEGREE IN SOMETHING UNLESS IT IS AT LEAST ABOVE AVERAGE PAYING. A degree in theater or recreation is a waste of money-somebody's- as well as YOUR TIME.
2. The cost of going hinders those whose parents are middle class since they have to do loans. The rich and kids from the hood and trailer parks who get pell grants have a much, much easier time after graduation since they don't have to take on an extra bill that is quite hefty. My parents were middle class and the cost of my loans is so much that I couldn't afford to even live in anything other than the projects, which I am disqualified from due to too much income.
3. A lot of degrees, including mine, in Psych. demand you earn a Master's in order to make an above average living, hence why I am in grad. school and not trying to rough it. I feel really bad for those who get a BS in Biology or Chemistry wanting to be doctors and never make it into med school, while they flip burgers and wait tables, awaiting an admission into med school that 2/3 of the time never occurs.

Head hunters prowl the campuses and pick up the best students for jobs in LA, Chicago and NYC, the rest is up to you.
To make a move requires a BUDGET and you have to come up with that budget.
As with college you should be sending out your RESUME 2-5 months before graduation to companies you are interested in working for.
You know TWO places. Your home and the campus area.
If you know NOTHING about NYC or Los Angeles how do you move there.
You need at least a $5,000 budget to survive for 3-5 months.
Where do you MOVE to in Los Angeles if you don't know the city and have no friends.
Yu need $2,000 to move in anywhere.
If there are NO apartments you stay at a motel paying $40 a night.
Or you sleep in your car.
Then you have to get out, travel and go to job sites and APPLY.
These days you talk with this manager, that manager, take a drug test, show your SS card, your picture ID, some places take finger prints and do a real background check so you won't get a YES or NO for 2-3 weeks.
If you want to get awayfrom it all and have some money, join the military.
With your degree you go in as an Officer
That's $20K a year to start, they teach yo ua skill, they give you work experience, they send you to Iraq and you come out in 4 or 5 years with maybe $30K to $50K in savings.
If you're rEALLY good they'll pay for you to get an advanced degree, so long as you stay for 7-10 years.
Yu'll get to travel the world, see places AND you'll get a CLASSIFIED or possible SECRET government document rating.
This opens up doors with PRIVATE contractors once you get out.
A guy I knew was fresh from the military and working for a computer company and because of his military background he got to work on the computer system in Germany when NATO and the US were upgrading things.
The shipped his $65,000 sports car, his $8,000 motorcyle over free of charge, gave him a place to stay and $$$$.
All because he had an INSTANT Classified Documents rating with the PEntagon.

I don't think it has anything to do with the government...if nothing else, it may have something to do with parents abdicating their responsibility to government institutions.
Way back when, parents were the ones who taught their kids how to be self-sufficient and responsible; now, apparently schools are supposed to do that. Well, they can't.
There really is nothing wrong with kids moving back in with their parents for 3-6 months while they job hunt, save up the money to get their own place, etc; however, if after a year or more they are still living there (and not as caretakers for their parents), it probably means that something - such as responsibility and independence - was not taught to them by their parents somewhere along the way.

It's just natural evolution. Every year our technology advances more and more and in order to keep up, people need higher degrees then just the traditional bachelors degree.
The government isn't really responsible for the types of jobs that are available and the education level needed for the jobs that are out there, but they could do something about the cost of school so that more people would be able to transition right from their undergrad degree to a masters or doctorate without putting themselves in thousands of dollars of debt or having to go back home, work at jobs that are below their educational level and try to safe up money in order to go back to school so they can get that masters/doctorate degree that's required.

Why is it wrong to return living with your parents? And why do you have to marry right away? those are more individual stuff than something that a goverment should do.
About marrying, you should wait until your more emotionally and financially more secure, not just because you ended graduating.
And, if your parents allow you to return, and you don't really have any reason to live on your own, why is that wrong?

It's importnat to note how long were talk about here. Most college grads do move back, but usually only for about 6 months basically to find a job/. I think the majority of college grads live on theyre own after 6 months to a year.

No. It's not. It's the government who govern them that are to blame. All the members of the society elect them to organize, to build up a good and nice society. But they don't. It seems that they are too busy to notice it.
