Santas warned 'ho ho ho' offensive to women
Wed Nov 14, 11:04 PM ET
SYDNEY (AFP) - Santas in Australia's largest city have been told not to use Father Christmas's traditional "ho ho ho" greeting because it may be offensive to women, it was reported Thursday.
Sydney's Santa Clauses have instead been instructed to say "ha ha ha" instead, the Daily Telegraph reported.
One disgruntled Santa told the newspaper a recruitment firm warned him not to use "ho ho ho" because it could frighten children and was too close to "ho", a US slang term for prostitute.

What do you think? Your honest answer please, is this phrase offensive to women? What's the world coming to when Santa can't say ho ho ho?

Ho is offensive when it means whore but really! we are not stupid and do not hear "whore whore whore" coming out of Santa's "ho ho ho." Next thing you know Santa can't be fat because it is not a healthy image and he can't have a white beard because 60 is the new 40.

If santa saying ho ho ho offends women does it offend them also when gardener's use a hoe? This is ridiculous. I heard several years back about a guy trying to get the word hello changed to 'heaveno' since it had the world hell in it. I wanted to say to him, what about helicopter, helmet, etc? Those are pronounced with the hell sound. What should ho ho ho be offensive? Yes I've heard it used offensivley as a punch line in a joke before but the true meaning of ho ho ho does not change because of one joke...

the whole thing is ridiculous, it is not offensive to me in the least, the only people who would take offense to something like that are people who have a dirty mind and they are the truly offensive ones, or people who just want to stir $&!% up, which seems to be a lot of people these days. Ho ho ho and a Merry Christmas to all, I say!

All they're really worry about is getting sued. The intent of Santa saying " Ho, Ho, Ho!" is not to insult women.

Wtf is wrong with people? Do they not have anything better to complain about? Nobody has ever complained before that Santa's "ho ho ho" was offensive, and no, it is absolutely NOT offensive. He's not even talking about real ho's. Jeez, these people need to get over it.
