My gf is white and I'm mixed, how can I learn to be accepted by whites and act like them?

Paul why do so many people see the world as black/white or white black? Why cant we just be ourselves? you mention about hard working there are many blacks who are hard working and never been to jail like myself who would be offended by that piece in your question but you know I'm like this, this is why we have yahoo questions.
I believe that you can only be yo8itself and either people will accept you or not.

Um are you serious? How about you just be yourself and let them accept you for who you are. Another question, how do whites act? I am black and act civilized, have a post graduate degree, and speak in correct english yet and still I in no way consider myself to be acting white. My suggestion for you is to educate yourself that is and should be the only real tool needed for acceptance by anyone.

I am white and I think it is crazt that you want to be accepted by whites. I am sure you are a wonderful person. Obviously your girlfriend accepts you. If the other "whites" in and around your life aren't accepting of you because of the color of your skin or your background, then they are ignorant. It is their loss that they don't want to know you for you. you are better off without those kind of people in your life. Be your self, keep doing what you are doing and don't let color get in the way.

You shouldn't have any problems being accepted, so long as you're respectable yourself. Much racisim is caused by blacks thinking the white man still owes them something because of something that happened years and years ago. I had nothing to do with it, don't blame me, and I don't owe you anything. If I happen to have life better than you, it's simply because I choose to make it better, you've got the same chances as I in this life, use them or hush.

You can't "learn to be accepted" by anyone. They have to stop being ignorant and accept YOU. The ball is in their court. You welcome them with open arms now they need to do the same. Don't change yourself or start acting "white"(whatever that means?). If you are the good person you say you are then over time they will accept you.

I don't think you need to act like white people to be accepted by us. Most people just like honest, friendly, fun-loving people. Be yourself, and if you have good manners and are friendly, they will like and accept you. There is no place for discrimination in this day and age- it's primitive.

First, you have to accept yourself. Act confident. And remember that there's no one way to "act white" or any other skin color. Be yourself, that ought to be enough.

If your GF's family won't accept you for having a diverse background, that's their loss. If your GF is fine with them not accepting you, leave it at that. If it bothers her, and this is coming from her, you might want to reconsider dating her and find someone whose family accepts you for who you are. Because if it bothers her enough, she may end up ending the relationship herself.

there is no reason that you should have to act like a white person (if that is possible) or that you should change what you are, if she really likes you or even loves you she should accept you for who you are and it shouldn't matter what race you are. so either she needs to learn to accept you, or if its not her then it doesn't matter.
