I have lived in the San Fran Bay area and Los Angeles. There is a good deal of the so-called conservative Mean-Spirit that you actually see in libs when they find out your a conservative. They stop coming around or calling. They smile and agree with you then walk away as soon as they can. They tell others in your circle that you are not to be trusted. The same is true if many of the people you know do drugs. And druggies don't go to churh. Most are democrats. Has anyone noticed? Druggies and demos are almost one and the same, and they don't go to churh either.

A lack of morality and moral training not found anywhere except in church or christian homes?
Yes! I believe you have a very valid point!
Thanks for asking!!!!!!

If your professor is asking lame questions like this, he's not a very good teacher. It sounds like he's making a generalization that libs didn't go to church. Wrong. I'm a lib and church was a big part of my childhood.
Lib's don't have acrimony toward middle America. Most of us are middle class.

No, I know several church going libs. They have attended since childhood, in fact their parents are often Conservatives. If you completed this question to its end you would be left with the conclusion, "The evidence is inconclusive to support this claim".

Now a more interesting question is, "Does the introduction of moral relevancy into a society signal the downfall of that society?" You could review pagan, Christian, Muslim, etc. from a historical perspective. You could even cross reference the style of governments.

This is why you see the Islamic fundamentalist fighting the Western culture. They do not want us to spread our lifestyle and amoral (from their point of view) standards into their realm of control.

It was my impression that a large part of the liberal side WAS middle-class. So exactly how are we showing "acrimony"? Isn't it more likely that the conservatives, who are more likely to be either very wealthy or very poor, would dislike the middle class?

And I went to church three times a week, Vacation Bible School, and revivals for the first 18 years of my life.

Your professor asked a question with not one, but two unwarranted assumptions? If your professor were a in a High School level Debate or Logic class, that would have earned him/her a big fat "F". Where does this person teach, anyhow? If at an accredited institution, then this should be brought to the attention of the Department Head and the Dean.

Most of the libs I know went to church as kids. I think that's a really weak argument. (You have a polysci prof who's not a liberal? Wow!)

Sorry to offend you but middle America is much more easily controlled by fear. Its funny how someone in Kansas is afraid that a terrorist will bomb them. Middle America is afraid of everything from gay marriage to Iraq war. This is the core of the right wingers. Make them afraid then they will vote for you. The west coast and east coast Americans are much more intelligent then to be scared into voting one way or another. What I am saying is most intelligent Americans feel sorry for middle America's non ability to decide from propaganda and the real facts in solving America's problems.

No. The lib acrimony towards conservatives is due to the hypocrisy they display (see middle America's larry craig for a good example)

"You are not true to yourselves! First take the stick out of your own eye. Then you will be able to see to take the dust out of your brother's eye." Matthew 7:5

This sounds like one of the more twisted Sean Hannity talking points.

The strategy is always to take what's obvious to everyone and spin it 180 degrees. Just the act of saying it makes it true to these people. Now it's the libs who hate middle America? Rigghhht.

the word "acrimony" means: Bitter, sharp animosity..
Please explain how Liberals display animosity toward middle America????? They do NOT do this. And then please explain what Church has to do with it as most of the Conservatives I know did not go to Church as kids.

Your professor is a nut job. Your follow up remark proved you were trolling. Why would you lie???????

You should transfer from Bob Jones University as SOOOOOOON as you can!

Libs have no acrimony towards middle America, they are standing up for middle America against the machinations of the plutocratic elite. In fact, the Bible calls for them to do this....

[ All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared everything they had. With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and much grace was upon them all. There were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned lands or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales and put it at the apostles' feet, and it was distributed to anyone as he had need. ] The Holy Bible (NIV) Acts 4:32-35
