It makes you sound like a miserable person when you are not

It's usually people with a chip who don't allow email and it makes them look cowardly because they know that people are going to take issue with what they've said but they don't/can't defend it so allow people to contact them directly.
I get emails from people all the time. There's a character limit so it's not like anyone is sending you a dissertation and your address is hidden unless you allow im so I don't see wha the big deal is.

It bothers me that we HAVE to live like this because of the way the world is these days! It's just not a safe thing to give out any of your information online. Too easy for others to hack and annoy you (at the minimum). Too many wierdo's out there these days, you know what I mean?

I can't stand phones, I can't stand IM....and am getting close to not liking face to face contact either. Yep, I am as uninviting as they come, so nope, doesn't bother me in the least !

mmmmm I allow e-mail but not IM because it seems like I get a bunch of really unwanted messages advertising things, I neither want or have any interest in, and in some cases just find offensive. I enjoy YA, but don't want to have to spend my time weeding out the icky IM's.

No it doesn't bother me. I don't want these freakin strangers around here popping up on my screen like they know me.
It is a little on the scary side actually. I tell them "you don't know me homie so scram you scumbucket!"
If you can't tell........... I'm only kidding but I do not use IM. Only when I'm talking to my grandma.

it might bother some if there is no im and no email, that kinda bothers me. see i don't have im so its a good option. email... well i would like to be able to contact others somehow

I think they could word it a little differently, but it doesn't bother me really. I just don't do IM.
