kudos to that...the only ppl that are to blame today are ignorant ppl in society that still show racism today. why should we be blamed for something we had no control over?

I agree, let's move on. Let there be no more racism, let no more white people say the N word. Let no more people look at a black person and automatically think they know what kind of music they listen to or how they will behave.
Sound unrealistic? Yeah, I think so, too. The ball is really in the court of white people. When there is no more racism, then the past will no longer matter, in a sense, because everything that happened in the past will no longer relate to today. But, unfortunately, it still does.

it is deep rooted, and complicated. in case you do away with it from the practise of our youngsters then black people would be offended by way of fact it is like pretending the atrocities did no longer happan in any respect. and that i believe that. it is an identical reason we be taught approximately WWI and WWII - so as that we can (with a bit of luck) be taught from those blunders. international historic previous is packed with hate and conflict and violence. inspect the previous testomony, inspect any faith or civilization. eliminating slavery from practise could be a unfavorable first step - by way of fact if that's no longer extremely worth remembering, why hardship gaining understanding of related to the Inquisition? people weren't slaves then, they have been in basic terms tortured and killed for believing in a different way. it incredibly is much greater horrific than slavery! eliminating all the ugliness of our previous might easily sense greater clever. yet i think of it is in elementary terms a band-help answer - it easily does not do away with hate or violence from our modern-day cases. the suited we can do is coach our youngsters precise from incorrect, and that all people is people no rely what their ideals or dermis colour. that must be much greater advantageous than in basic terms eliminating the violence of our historic previous from practise. understanding the place we've been facilitates us pass forward, and in step with hazard sometime we will not have greater violence to function to historic previous instructions.

I don't feel quilty for anything. My family has only been in the states for around 70 years and the few who where in the states were Native Americans.
Nobody should be held resonsible for something that they didn't personally do.

I don't feel guilty.
Nobody in my family ever owned slaves. On my father's side, my great-grandmother had a quality of life comparable to perhaps an indentured servant. Dirt poor, terrified to the end of her life of the Finns.
On my mother's side, I trace back to the Slavs (the root for 'slave', actually) and Jews.
I'm not sorry that people with my skin color did nasty stuff to people with other skin colors.

I agree that we should move on. Let us all learn from history so it does not repeat itself. let us all treat each other with respect, and stop the nonsense. Everybody.

yes it seems a pity that we are obsessed with the historical activities of the melatonin deficient, and we might equally discuss the relevance of eye colour, nose size, height, hair length etc.
Personally I don't feel a bit guilty about the actions of my ancestors ( and I'm sure some of them where quite unpleasant ) I am not them, I haven't done what they did, and if it was nasty, i don't approve or condone their actions.
