Economics----taxes and the reduction of them---balancing the budget, and living within our means.

If we don't cut taxes, all the other issues will be moot.

We won't have the money to pay for any of these other things if we keep getting fleeced by Congress.

It is very like a marriage--If I had a partner who spent me into oblivion, we wouldn't be able to sustain ourselves. If I couldn't trust him, not to borrow against the future, then there wouldn't be a marriage, and I would have to get rid of him in order to survive. Our contract with our government is much the same.
It's time to look at all of our elected officials and make sure that they are in fact representing us. If they aren't it's time to get rid of them.
We need fiscal responsibility in our government. If we have that, we will still have a country. If not, our days are numbered.

Immigration is my priority.
I find it hard to believe that congress won't move on this issue and nothing will be done on it until a new President & Congress are sworn in in January of 2009. The problem is just getting worse every day.

I agree with Spay. My top one is two - the war in Iraq and the environment. But everything else is so important it's really close to the others.

I am not a one trick pony and don't vote for one trick ponies. There are many very important issues that have virtually been ignored over the last 7 years and so I would focus on more than one issue.
Top issues:
Healthcare reform
The Middle East
Immigration reform
Get rid of lobbyists
Economics
Environment
Clean, renewable, sustainable energy
Full employment
Education
Infrastructure
Election reform

I have many issues I am looking at, but I will list 2 which I consider to be extremely important.

Immigration - No to the rewarding of illegal activity
Health Care - No to socialized medicine

What I would most like to see though is a politician who isn't afraid to take on the greed of oil companies and take steps to reign in the out of control gas prices which threaten our economy. It's not going to happen, but it is a nice dream none the less.

That he is qualified and not an active member of the "conservative" republican party. He may be a republican, dem or an independent, but the ideas and thought process of the conservatives has ruined this country and it's time to eliminate the rotten apples. We don't need someone sitting on the fence and leaning towards which ever side offers the most votes or offers the most campaign money like Hillary... or do we need someone like Rudy who has no political qualifications besides having being attacked in his own city and becoming friends with Little George... We don't need someone like Freddy that is nothing more than an expierenced ACTOR as president, or do we need someone who is trying to rally people on the basis of their color or gender.. Someone who will follow the Constitution not try and twist, change, and misinterpret it to fit their needs..We need CHANGE.. real change not just promised change.

VOTE...... RON PAUL!!!!

Toss up between economics and immigration. Quite a few ills are tied to both.

I don't like just picking one issue....
....but if I had to, it would be Healthcare Reform.

Securing our borders would be nice and cracking down on the Radical Islamics that are roaming OUR country.

My main concern is having GWB out of the White House, but that is inevitable thank Heavens.

Keeping Hillary out of the White House, all other issues are improved as long as she does not become President.
