My family has an emachine computer that is having problems. One day for some reason, the monitor stopped working when it was plugged in. The light on the monitor just stays orange, and never goes green or displays anything. I tried all the plugs to see if they were loose. I tried plugging in different monitors, and I get the same result. I also noticed that when the machine is turned on, I hear 3 successive beeps. This usually signals some sort of problem, but I can't get anything to display on the screen to see the problem! Can anyone help?

Hi. That is usually a failure in memory. http://www.pcguide.com/ts/x/sys/beep/amiB3-c.html

Emachine Beep Codes

Check the e-machine web site. They should have a list of the error codes for your model.

The 3 beeps means there is a hardware problem keeping the machine from being able to boot (thus no display). The code will tell you which hardware item it is. Most common are either the memory or the power supply.

If the PC has more than one memory stick, try take one out and booting. Go one by one through the sticks to see if it will boot when one of then is missing. If so, the memroy stick is bad.

Next is to try disconnecting on the cards in the card slot and try booting. If one of them is bad, removing them should let the PC boot. Then replace cards one by one looking for the bad card.

Finally, repeat the same thing with all the drives (floppy, hard drive, CD, etc) looking to see if one of them is the problem.

If none of those work, consider replacing the power supply.

(Good luck)

Well if it's 3 short beeps then its a RAM failure. If its 1 long and two short then it;s a video monitor issue. 3 long beeps is a keyboard or keyboard card error.

CCleaner is basically a dedicated cleaner which cleans the unwanted files in your computer...for eg. when you download or open any file or site, at many places it is registered in your computer that is not needed by the computer to work.....its a wonderful software that frees unwanted space...
Norton is basically a dedicated anti-virus.....
I sugess to still install CCleaner

You can find a free download of ccleaner here http://bit.ly/1sJimp9
