if you know what state your dad died in then you write to the health department of that state or the social security place or the best place is try and find on the net. its easier and then you can even order it on line. you will have to show proof of being daughter but its easy send your birthcertificate copy and stuff like that and it will tell you how much to pay for it and you can get it. i can't think right now what place but if you mess around in the net and pull up state govt types you will find the right place mine was in michigan at the time. you can always get the certificates of all relatiives by doing this and proving relative take care

County courthouse... but you will probably have to prove your relationship to him in order to get a copy of these documents, Bring along your birth certificate and a photo ID.

That's the way it works in my county, anyway. I think it cost $6, but it's been a few years since I've done that.

The county courthouse, or whereever they keep the records. Sometimes it's in the birth/death certificate office. Another place to look is in the health department office. The last place to look would be your dad's family doctor office.
