My Control Panel opens up. It's pretty annoying. How do I make it NOT do that?

Try going into START- PROGRAMS - STARTUP and see if the control panel is in there, if so, just delete it.

Or, Click on Start then Run. In the Open box, type msconfig.exe followed by enter. Once displayed, click on the "Startup" tab. You will see a list of items and the 2 columns that we're interested in are "Startup Item" (WinXP).
If the control panel is in there just uncheck it.

Good luck

Hi. That WOULD be annoying. Try using 'msconfig' in the Run window. Look at the 'Startup' tab and see if 'Control panel' is in there. Otherwise there must be a flag set somewhere. I have never seen this issue.
