In the movie "Man of the Year" Robin said:
"Politicians are like diapers and should be changed frequently".
Think about the rising gase prices , then ask yourself who (democratic or republicans) has done anything to keep gas prices from rising the way they have.
Would replacing everyone (senators, representatives, and president) next election put the fire under the seats of our politicians?

To the 4th answer...Don't you think a fire needs be lit under their rear ends? Have they gotten so secure in their jobs that they really don't care?

Fuel is a commodity just like anything else you purchase. The best way to drive prices down is to reduce consumption. Of course we could drill in new areas for oil, and that has been hampered by politicians. As I understand though, refineries are pretty much maxed out. With such drastic ups and downs from the speculators on wall street, one would think that there are certainly questionable practices in play here. No one can convince me that within a 6 month period we have all of a sudden realized a "shortage", almost doubling the price of crude. If it is a speculator's job to accurately predict supply and demand, some one needs to get fired.
Changing the politicians would be a good thing, but would have little to do with the price we pay at the pump.

What we need to do is replace all the CORRUPT politicians with uncorrupt politicians. (Most, though not all, are corrupt.)
Corrupt politicians seem to be the only choices in most races.
Most have to sell themselves to big money, who are out to own us all. Thus, they sell us down the river, once elected.
We need to stop sending THOSE politicians to DC, and send some human beings, instead.
I'm hoping that, with the growing power of the Internet, more voters will stop letting the media pick the candidates of THEIR (big money) choice; but people will exercise a little rationality for a change.

Excellent movie!!! If I was Prez. this is exactly how I would be...no holds barred!!!
But seriously...yes, there should be terms for all positions, & all positions should be filled as neutrals--no affiliations--simply of the People, by the People, & for the People...and post-office benefits should be allotted according to each department's accomplishments of their own profits...yes, I think that would be a grand motivator to get busy & stay that way while in office...no time for BS!!!
We can only hope!!!

they been working on this problem for years. the first senator elected on a platform of term limits is about ready to retire. think about it. this guy has run on a platform of not allowing congress to stay in office for life... for his entire life.
