His reply with in 5 minutes:

Unfortuantelly we have a record of that call and you must agree that it was you putting the phone down on our tradesman when he was traying to explain you why he would like to come and see your property. It is nothig wrong not giving a custmer guesed price. Finally you wan't be fined. By registering campain against that tradesman what you will achive? Did he start the job for you and hasn't finished it? Did he enter you property and has destroyed or stole something? Did he upset you by saying something offensive? I belive you know the answer. All the best Mrs .

Thanks ALL FRIENDS..CHEERS

About 6 years ago, my husband registered with a web site (Service.....) to get quotes for a new roof. We found out that the site didn't check to make sure their referrals were licensed, reputable or anything. In fact, the people they gave referrals to had paid them a fee to be able to receive referrals for job quotes--just like your situation.

We too, canceled our appointment and were told on the phone AND sent a letter by the contractor, demanding money from us for the cancelled appointment which wasn't for a job, but for a quote only. We received two certified letters that we had to sign for (well, we didn't HAVE to , but did). The guy said he was going to put it on our credit report and was demanding $400 (us money)!

We contacted a free legal help line and were told that we had no obligation. We wrote the contractor a letter demanding he stop his harassment or face a lawsuit in court for harassment. We also contacted our State's Attorney General who investigated the case. We were surprised and pleased to find that the individual was cited and fined several hundred dollars.

DO NOT PAY this person. But also, don't sit still and let them scare and harass you. Take some action, write them a letter and put the scare back onto him! Also, report him to your police authority so that they have a record of your complaint and have noted that you feel threatened by him. Most likely they will contact him and tell him to stop and he probably will once he knows he is known by the authorities and will be watched from now on.

Best of luck!

That is the weirdest thing I've ever heard and it makes no sense. That painting company sounds fake and like they're trying to scam you for money. I hope you didn't have any personal info on the website? As long as you didn't, I don't see how this person could do anything to you...

Although he did say he's mailing you the fine? So I'm thinking he probably does have your address? I don't know, you might have to get the police involved if he starts threatening you with strange letters and fines. Be careful and don't put your personal info anywhere online!

it particularly is possible. There are democrats who're offended over the signing of the invoice. you're top that issues are no longer consistently as they look and the distraction is nice for the dems yet i individually think of somebody has made threats. we can blame the tea occasion bc they are unfavourable to government waste, extreme taxes, and absence of determination. anybody who believes it particularly is an intensive!

It is really scary at how many creative ways people are thinking up to cheat and scam people out of money. Too bad these people can't focus their creativity in other more useful ways...cure for cancer, world peace, feeding homeless, etc. Instead they cheat honest people out of hard earned money. Disgusting.

sound like druggies to me! forget about them. go to your local paint store, i use sherwin williams, and ask them for 3 local contractors. they know the guys and gals that come in there daily and won't send you any riff-raff! you can also look to a handyman.

I would just ignore it. They have no legal rights when inquiring if you want an estimate. Refusing their offer is not a crime nor can you be charged for it.
