really call that a "reunion tour" with a straight face?

Or does your band have to have been formed before a certain year before you and your fans can use that term with credibility? Can ANY boy band use the term?

Only if you....
No.
It's better to just not go there. You can only really have a non-sarcastic reunion tour if you're a famous, or at least successful in a nitch-y sort of a way, band that's got at least 5-10 years under your belt. If it's kind of a fascetious sort of a thing and you do all the promotion and what have you in a very over the top way then I could see it, but you said "with a straight face."

I think a good guideline would be, you're band should have earned the right to have a greatest hits record before you can play the reunion tour card. 10 years, at least 5 records and legit hits, and you should have been broken up for at least 5+ years.

I know where you're going with this. The thing is the boy bands have all based their careers on being a joke. I believe their members for the most part know they're a joke as well unlike the MCR's of the world. So for them to use the term "reunion" with a straight face probably is a challenge even for them but it's still all about the Benjamins anyway.
