I got my first violation notice today.
I'm not upset, in fact I thought it was perfect.
Who do you think decides what to censor on here?

Yahoo censored a word I typed by replacing the letters with **** that is called censoring.

I didn't insult anyone I typed a word YA blocked it.

I'm not complaining about the violation. I think it is funny.
I'm curious about the board that sets the rules, who are they? Men, Women, Young, Old?

Yes I understand the reasons they censor.
I'm not asking why, but who.
Like I said I'm not complaining, I asked who is it that is deciding. Who are 'the people' that decide.

It is not censorship. When you joined the site you agreed to conform to the terms of service - these terms of service are much more restricted than what you could say on the street for example; but nevertheless you agreed to abide by them. If you for example don't ask/answer a question but just make a statement, or insult someone then that is a violation of the terms of service you agreed to abide by.

Yahoo also censors swearing because it is a "family site" - if it was NOT a family site then yahoo would ask you to prove your age before you could enter. Yahoo would much rather the tens of thousands of teenagers saw a row of stars and lots of adverts which pay for their site, rather than just letting fewer adults on and "uncensoring" your words.
