In the summer - mow the lawn (3 acres) and keep the pool clean and do the dishes and vacuum the house and other odd jobs when I ain't working part time some where. In the winter it's pretty much the same thing except I plow out the drive way (700 feet) if we get more than 3 inches of snow. Also any "Honey do" jobs that the wife wants done. If I ain't doing that I am sleeping!

i'm interior the united kingdom and don't have an complete state pension or any works pension. also i can't declare something by ability of way of a benefit because I have price reductions (from an inheritance). once my price reductions are all the way down to (i imagine) 10000 pounds - which couldn't take lengthy as I even ought to dip into them very usually - i'm able to then declare pension credit. From doing a pension credit verify on the internet i hit upon that each and each and every thousand interior the monetary employer OVER 10000 pounds counts as £4 a week income (they lower price the first £10,000). that is a few distance from actuality because no-one receives activity of the quantity they calculate right here notwithstanding it extremely is the gadget we are stuck with. They probable got here up with that be certain at the same time as expenditures of activity were about 10% for savers and have not replaced it for the reason that. once price reductions drop to £10,000 the ease kicks in so someone with out price reductions in any respect and lower than an complete state pension ought to immediately qualify (and qualify for loose council tax and probably have their lease paid. I.T.M.A. you ought to look into this as i'm particular you may want to qualify.

I read 5 books week - ergo a trip to the library is essential once a week. I do crossword puzzles each day, play with my kitty cats, watch TV, work on the computer, play with Y/A's, pay my bills, go grocery shopping (not too crazy about cafeterias), talk on the phone - go for a walk when the weather is nice. Do laundry, clean house, iron, wash dishes,
and a ton of other stuff - Oh! the golden years - - - ain't life grand?!!! And for fun - I love to go out to dinner in a real restaurant and also love to go to the movies!

I'm not retired yet, but I can tell you what my ninety-one year old father has been doing since he retired five years ago. Four days a week he spends four hours volunteering in our church's thrift shop. Six days a week he helps out in our local library. He walks everywhere he goes, covering many miles each day. When he sees folks working in their yards, he offers to help them. He chats with children and adults, plays with the dogs, talks to his friends over coffee at McDonald's, races the kids on their way to the bus stop, visits me and regales me with fascinating stories of his life, reads, prays, and worships. And he never lets a day pass without raving about what a wonderful world this is, how God has blessed him, how he's a very lucky man.

I forgot how much fun it is to do absolutely nothing or to putz around the house. I was forced to retire early because I have emphysema. I am only 61. My disease certainly has taken it's toll on me. BUT, I keep myself busy and don't have time to do all the things I want to do.

It seems women can putz & entertain themselves. It is a different story for the men. They get lost, unless they are golfers.

I love it & I am almost a shut in. I am doing all the things I enjoyed & didn't have time to do when I was raising three kids, going to school & working full time.

Keep the house clean, cook, run errands, take care of the dog, grocery shop, do laundry. I also knit, work on a scrapbook, organize photographs, pay bills, spend time on
Yahoo Answers, take a yoga class. At night I watch TV with my husband. On weekends I work at Michaels teaching knitting and doing demos. I also sell Avon. Talk on the phone to friends and relatives, and see them when I can. So I am pretty busy since I retired.

I had to retire early due to arthritis. I took care of an ill husband two years. After he died, I put my time into my daughter and all my lovely grandchildren. I start my morning with coffee, devotions and prayer, and checking the news on the computer. I do the thing every other "housewife" does; only now it takes me much, much longer due to very limited mobility. Besides food preparation, cleaning the apartment, feeding my pets, laundry, and calls from family and friends, I crochet, work on my book, write to friends, read, and have dinner with a friend. A warm shower, a bit of TV (documentaries, health channels, etc) and it's chill time on the computer till bedtime which is usually close to midnight.
