wow! OK you need to go to the vital statistics site for your state and enter your information it may be 12 .00 or you can go through vital check on-line it is more but you will get it faster. Just to let others know most hospitals only give you the certificate that is only for show and cant be used for anything else. Also you CAN NOT get it from the same place that you get marriage certificated from Sorry folks you have to go through vital statistics or vital records that is the ONLY way to get a valid birth certificate for any means of obtaining identification. you should have gotten a packet when you left the hospital that you should mail away. Mine already had the envelope and everything. Hope that helps.

I would say either to phone the hospital at which your son was born, or the county health department. Earlier this year, I had to get a certified copy of my birth certificate and I had to get it through the health department of the county in which I was born. (I was living in Michigan at the time and was born in Texas. Looking back, it is a little disturbing at how easy it was. Anybody could pose as me as long as s/he has my license or SSN and get one. Yikes.) To get our daughter's certificate, we have to go to the county health department.
The cost for both certificates were/are about $20. (I could have gotten the copy my parents have, but they live in Indiana and it was easier just to obtain my own copy.)

You need to contact the 'Vital Records' department in county
he was born. Do a search for vital records in your area and
you may find an online service as well.
I just went through this also.
Good luck

I lost my daughters birth certifacate a little while back and can tell you matter of factly what you need to do. Its simple actually, go to your town hall tell them you need a compy of your childs birth certificate. They make you fill out a form provide 2 forms of ID and in CT pay $10. THats it. In a matter of min you have a new copy.

Not knowing where you're located, I'm not sure if this applies for all places, but in case you're in Toronto, you go to the Registrar's office which is at Wellesley and Bay (big building, can't miss it) and get him registered there. If you live elsewhere, I'm sure you can find out where the registrar's office is in your city.

Contact the County Recorder Office in the county he was born in... for a fee they should be able to provide it to you..... You might also contact the hospital where he was born (since it is so recent)..... maybe they have a suggestion.

You should be able to go to your local courthouse (or wherever you apply for things like a marriage license) and request a birth certificate.

Go online to your state vital records and print off a order form. You fill it out and send in the fee and they will mail it to you.

Call the CITY he was born in (city hall) and ask if they keep their own vital records. If not, ask them where you would call to get a copy of the BC.

Go to your city hall. I believe the city clerks handle these tasks. You will be charged a fee (varies by state) and you'll get it right away. They simply print it out, stamp it, and you're all set to go.
