The issue has been MADE political, with all the discussions of evolution and/or intelligent design being taught in schools, for example. Isn't this justification enough for questions on eveolution to be placed in the Politics category?

Why don't we talk about creationism in the Books-Fiction-Fantasy section? Evolution is science. They is no rational political debate on a proven subject that's only opposition are Fanatical religious spoon feeders.

I don't think this is the place to discuss evolution as a fact or theory, there is certainly another place for that. The way evolution discussion is effecting politics though and how politicians handle legal questions about evolution belong here.

No, it is not. Evolution is science, this is politics. Politicians are not, and can not have an impact on the theory of evolution, it is well beyond their domain of understanding. The discussion of intelligent design vs. evolution pertains to education, not science, and the related discussion on the validities of both theories are the realm of science.

IF you are talking about the political aspect of evolution.. like should it be made law to teach it side by side with intelligent design.. then a question like that belongs here.

If you are talking about "Is evolution real" or "is intelligent design real" those have nothing to do with politics.. they are questions of science, faith and philosophy.

Perhaps if they are discussed within the realm of science as well.

The problem is many bring their emotions into the subject and science is left on the back burner, if not altogether forgotten.

I agree. The theory itself belongs in the science area, but the way the issue has been politicized in our schools should be discussed here.

Because the only people who debate the issue are the religious fundies who never cracked a science book they didn't disagree with.
