If you're talking about safety from pregnancy, which I assume is the case, the best thing is to have a good read of the leaflet inside the pack. It will tell you how long you have to wait before it works as a safe contraceptive. It may be 3 weeks or so.
Use condoms or whatever you have been using until that time.
Obviously if you mean safe in terms of catching something then the pill is never safe for that!
I assume you mean the former though, I have mainly added the last bit because anyone can read this, including the more naive!

Reading between the lines, English is not I assume your first language, you will have been on the progesterone only pill for one month, by the time your boyfriend arrives.
If this is the case, you will be fully covered as far as contraception and risk of pregnancy is concerned, however pills do not reduce the risk of STD it is for this reason a good idea to use a condom as well.

you need to be taking the pill regularly for several days.. I think it is 7 days, but it may depend on what stage of your cycle you were at when you started taking it.. best not to rely on answers from here.. best to ask a qualified FP nurse or doctor
better to be safe than sorry, and , if you have only started taking the pill today you DEFINITELY need to use a condom

The pill is only 99% accurate so, if you don't want to take any chances on getting pregnant, then you should still use a condom. Even though the pill is fairly accurate, I know quite a few women who have gotten pregnant while using the pill or shot.

The pill doesn't protect you from disease...
But I'd at least take the pill for a whole month before letting him 'finish' without a condom.

It takes a week for it to fully be effective. Have you both been checked for ST D's? There are worst things to get from sex then a baby. And don't believe the old "I have never been with anyone else" line. Trust is important in a relationship, but so is your health. It's great that you are trying to be safe, take it one more step.OK?

You have to take the pill for a certain length of time before it becomes effective - (not sure how long - but it should say on your packet)
If you have only just started taking it, then your BF should still use protection.

Using a condom will be safer - the pill only protects from pregnancy not any STIs or anything
