I think it's supportive to try to make it to all of them :)

The first prenatal appointment is probably the most important one since you get to hear the baby's heart and possibly get an ultrasound. The dr takes both of your family history so you are needed.

The first visit is a pretty big one and she is going to have a lot of testing done. My boyfriend has gone to all of mine, but I know that isn't logical for everyone. If you are able to go and she wants you to go, you probably should. She will definitely need the support. At my first visit, they initially could not hear the heartbeat and I had to wait about 10 minutes to have a vaginal ultrasound. I was so glad that he was there with me!

The first one is important. They'll ask a bunch of questions about family history. It will be helpful if you're there. You can ask any questions you have right away too. I'd go to this one for sure. Later on you can decide if you need to be there or not.

My first prenatal is next Friday. I told my fiance about it and of course he forgot and made plans to go out hunting with friends. I told him that since I am getting a sonogram, that wouldnt he want to be there just in case something was wrong. He quickly changed his mind and now is going with me to the Doctors instead. I say GO!

There are three things (not including labor, LOL) that I like my husband to be there for. My first appointment so he gets to meet the doctor/midwife, this is the appointment where you get to ask all kinds of questions. The next appointment that I like him to go to is when they listen for the babies heart beat. I think this is around 12 weeks and finally I like him to be there when they do the ultrasound.
If I could pick only one it would be the ultrasound.

You could go to them all but tbh the first one is really boring. I'd make sure your at the ultrasound appointments and the one where you listen to your childs heatbeat.
Ask your wife if she wants you to attend, she might need your support.

Go to as many as you can especially if she wants you there. and of course definitely the ultrasound! I personally was OK with my husband not going to all my appointments, but he did go to the ultrasounds and loved it. Do everything your wife wants you to do =) The first one I would think would be a definite.
Good luck and grats, Daddy ;)

James, my wife and I had 4 children. The only pre-natal visit I missed was the one that the doctor told us we could be having twins. Probably would have feinted anyway...hehehehe.
Go to as many as you can. Your wife will adore you for it.

They are all important. Yes you should go to the first one. Typically they ask questions about your family history at the first one. Very important for both of you to be there to answer questions.
