oh yes.. this was the guy who use to shut down Jordan and Pippen then get to the finals guard and get in Karl Malones head, Shawn Kemp as well hell he even guarded Shaq better than almost anyone i ever saw ... he would take on the best guards like Jordan on to the best big Men like Shaq and Hakeem Olajuwon... and like i said not only would he guard them but get in their heads and make them commit stupid fouls or take bad shots over and over again... and Kobes troubles with Bruce Bowen leads me to believe Rodman will have more luck cause Kobe has trouble playing against rougher defenders when he is not getting the calls ....and Rodman would be in Kobes head for sure... he gets mad whenever Bowen Runs under him on a shot so just imagine what Rodman would do ....i know is hard to believe but Trust me Rodman was 4 real b4 he became a nutcase

In fairness to Dennis Rodman, I don't think there's ever been a player in the history of the league that could shut down Kobe Bryant. Not Rodman, MJ, Pippen, Dumars, Bowen, Cooper, or anyone. He may have done as well a job as any of those guys, but Rodman couldn't shut Kobe down.

I don't know that Dennis Rodman would even guard Kobe. Rodman was a PF. I don't think anyone can fully shut down Kobe, but I think that he can make Kobe's game difficult.

Rodman would not be able to guard Kobe... if you watch film on him, you'd see Rodman is a great low post defender, guarding forwards like Malone, Barkley, and such... but Rodman doesn't have the ability to stay with any of the premier shooting guards with range, much less Kobe... Rodman would have to play Kobe close in the perimeter, because Kobe has the range, and when Rodman does, Kobe can blow past him driving to the basket... sorry, but it's my opinion, Rodman would do a better job on guarding Tim Duncan than trying to stop Kobe....

at times yes but Kobe is too quick and athletic for Rodman. Besides Kobe is the 2nd best player in the NBA behind Duncan. Kobe doesn't really have any weaknesses besides the fact that he can be selfish at times but he has improved in that area.

he won't be able to. rodman is a premier low post defender. kobe is an excellent perimeter player. bryant won't post up against rodman, he'll drive around him or pull for jumpshots.

Rodman was a good defensive player but no one player can stop a player like Kobe and other top offensive players. You have to double team them and continually change your defensive strategy and just hope to contain him from time-to-time so he can't always do what he wants to do.

Rodman will be able to frustrate him but he will still score his usual 30pts against him
