What's a personal superstition that you hold?

I always say "see you later" instead of goodbye; and every morning on my way out to work, I make a point of petting my orange tabby cat for luck.

Here lately I have been around a lot of ladders. I make sure not to go underneath.
I always uphold the salt rule.
And I never say someone is sick or dead as an excuse to get out of trouble, or work. My Momma said it would really happen if I did. (That one always scared the bejebbers out of me.)

If I spill the salt, some has to be tossed over my left shoulder to cancel the bad luck.

First Footer. On New Year's, the first person to cross the threshold of your front door needs to be a dark haired male...for luck throughout the year. An old Scottish tradition, and one of my own is to make sure they also have a wee dram of the uisge-beatha for the trip. Ya ken?

I've got the same ones as a lot of other people on here ... um, I try to avoid an object coming between us if I walk with someone, I don't cross knives and forks, I do the "jinx" thing if I say the same thing as someone else, and I also have a whole bunch of feng shui stuff (can't say it's really worked though).

I keep a Feng Shui money fountain.

'Cuz when you're down on your luck, you may as well buy a pretty fountain for your living room, right?

Anyhow, could be coincidence... could be an optimistic self-fulfilling prophecy... could be the cat mentally exerting his will on the universe in the hopes of getting higher quality cat food... but whatever the case, we no longer have money trouble.

I nearly always put mineral water in my cordial instead of normal water.

When sharing your dreams with someone you should eat breakfast b4 you tell them so I won't come true. IF you want it to come true Don't eat breakfast. I don't know why I follow that stupid rule.
