I see lots of Santas are being told that they may no longer say "ho ho ho" because PCs see it as an insult.

I don't remember Cindy Lou Who taking offense to anything Santa said. Do you?

Red: personally i think the "ho, ho, ho" thing has been blown way out of proportion. whoever it was who got upset about this clearly isnt a people person and would rather create trouble for others and justify her actions as protection for the children. children are not going to discover "Ho's" alternative use until theyre about 13 anyway. are the parents really going to be able to protect their children forever? maintaining innosence is one thing, pushing it past puberty is another.
if the santa censorship contiues then i will personally dress up as santa and yell HO HO HO to the very heavans. nobody stops free speech and a crazy man with a large costume trunk.

Yuki: wow! i can feel the passion. who's cindy lou? let your kid watch the grinch. its jim carey! the man with the elastic face. the kids arent even going to know what's going on while that guy jumps around on screen. and besides...PC sees everything as an insult.

truth in all forms

Red terror and Yuki the catgirl.

I did see the PC report - it's on the front page of Yahoo this morning, and I think that is ridiculous. We will let our daughter watch "The Grinch" and "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" and "Rudolph" and all those great shows.

My 6 year old knows the difference between saying "ho, ho, ho" in a Santa sort of way, and saying "ho" in a way that would be offensive, and my entire family knows better than to use derogatory language toward anyone.

I haven't heard about "ho,ho,ho" being taken as an insult and I think that's just plain silly. I don't remember Cindy Lou Who takin offense to anything either and I'd let small children watch the Grinch tv show-haven't seen the movie.

That was in Australia, not in the US.

Now that doesn't mean I don't think it's silly... I'm a Deist but I still say Ho Ho Ho and Merry Christmas, or Happy Holidays... or whatever comes out first... none of it is insulting. And even if a kid did learn what a whore was it's not like it doesn't take a 2 second conversation to let them know there's a difference. We used to joke about it when I was younger.. but we knew the difference. (Don't tell me none of you have never said Ho Ho Ho, ho. :P )

Still.. it's the Aussies, not the US.

No, it's time to give up Christmas. The PC brigade have declared war upon it. No more "It's a Wonderful life", no more "Miracle on 39th street". They are the most fearful things on this planet.

Instead of worrying about Nuclear war possibilities, this was where the threat was all along. This woman should be put in a mental asylum for the rest of her life. Complete idiot who has put herself above God.

Say "Ho Ho Ho" to everyone you ever meet during the Christmas period and enjoy it. Your freedom to do so, is what makes living so great. Don't let this female scrooge tell you differently.

I also see a law suit against all the little Who's in Who-ville for not just giving the Grinch what he needed instead of making the poor little green man revert to having to break into everyone home and taking it.
Next there will be a lawsuit for the Christmas tree in the middle of the Square. You simply can not have a Christmas Tree without displaying symbols from other religions.
Not to mention the cruelty to poor little Max for having to pull that wagon full of toys or the humiliation he suffered for having to wear Reindeer antlers.

Did you read the WHOLE piece, or just the sensational headline? Here, word per word, is the final paragraph:
A local spokesman for the US-based Westaff recruitment firm said it was "misleading" to say the company had banned Santa's traditional greeting and it was being left up to the discretion of the individual Santa himself.
