I can't agree with your small wars leading to world war notion. Complex political entanglements lead to world war. World War one for example did not slowly grow into a large war, it happened quite quickly. Sure, the initial act of aggression was small, but it didn't escalate because of the fighting, it erupted into a world war because everyone had alliances.

The present world situation is lacking a couple of things to be a major world war. There is not two clearly defined sides, each side is fragmented and there is not the same potential for escalation. There is no central leadership on one side in particular. If the multiple factions were to have one leader they'd all follow, then it could get ugly in a hurry. That would unite one side in a common goal, which would force the other side to consolidate to face the threat. That's when it could lead to a world war.

All wars now are caused by US unfair policies in gulf and middle east. See what happened to Iraq, Till now there are no weapon of mass destruction, a good president died, Iraqis suffered and Bush blamed Ben Laden for 9/11 while most of the world knows that Israel were behind this due to no Jews or Israeli died in the incident. Please let Iran alone.
Enough with damage you done to the world, from Korean War to Gulf War 2.!!!!

The small conflicts add up to a total World War over time.

Look at the following antagonistic relationships currently in the world:

-Arab countries and Israel / the West
-N. Korea and S. Korea
-U.S. and Russia
-China and Japan
-India and Pakistan

Now look at the following alliances:

-U.S. -- Europe -- Israel -- Japan -- S. Korea -- India

-Russia -- Arab countrries (Iran, Syria) -- China -- N. Korea -- Pakistan

I dont see how if you follow the world news, you cant see the players picking their sides as tensions continue to grow.
