Federer would win solely on the fact that he is in his prime, has been working out each day, and keeps his game in shape. Sampras has a couple of kids, and tennis is basically a distant memory...also he is 36 years old...which is ancient for a tennis player.
If Sampras is able to serve big and volley effectively, he will be able to keep it close. Maybe 6-4, 7-5, 7-6 type of sets.

Being that this is an exhibition match, it is anyone's guess who will actually "win" this match. If it were a real competitive match, Federer would blow Sampras off of the court hands down. However, Federer will probably tone down his play considerably to keep it entertaining. Federer also has great respect for Sampras and probably wouldn't mind dumping a few points here and there for the great champion.

Federer will win against Sampras because Pete hasn't played competitive tennis in the past 5 or 6 years now. Federer may have lost his past 2 or 3 tournaments lately but he has proven that in Grand Slam tournaments, he is the King!

As good as Sampras is, Federer is going to win this one. I'm just hoping Pete can put up a decent fight and avoid the match being one-sided.

Federer...Sampras has been out of it for about 5 years...Sampras would be rusty...and Federer is Federer, even though he's lost a couple recent matches...

As much as I like Pete, Federer will probably crush Sampras. Pete has been out for a while. Chances are he will lose, I just hope Roger doesn't embarrass Pete too much :)

whatever the answer is....i dont wanna know yet...i am going for the match and i want it to be a real slobber knocker....
(although i secretly feel someones gonna get it bad)
sampra's needs to serve and volley his best to knock fedex off balance...if not...its gonna be a horrible battle...from baseline...theres hardly any fight...
pete's much older then when he dominated the game...his speed would be a major factor here..as well as his durability on the court...
*but i do have a stinking feeling that since this is just an exhibition match...there will be more friendly play compared to a hard knock session...

normally I would say Federer, but he has been so shaky of late. If Sampras really plays a solid game, serving and volleying well, he may have a chance.
