That is dumb. There are just a whole slew of smart-alec comments I'm going to pass on here.

The worst part is that now the right-wing echo chamber will pick this up as evidence of an International War On Christmas.

Ugh.

In case you read the article the most outspoken person against such a trivial action is a woman.

I'd have a difficult time believing the woman's movement is behind this. It is beyond absurd. Whomever is behind it has gone too far, yes.

no, but the expectation of what the womens movement will ask for has. I dont see a single feminist who actually gives a rats patootie what santa says.

OH god...

i'm pretty liberal... but that is really really stupid.

Ho Ho Ho is a hundreds-year old tradition.

this is just a simple-minded petty complaint.

there are REAL women's rights issues to worry about like how they don't get equal pay, and how their representation in the congress and the professional world are not nearly equal to that of men...

so stop all the petty bull.

I missed the part where this has anything to do with the woman's movement (whatever that even is).

It's very ironic to me, actually. The music and slang which has associated "ho" with women is not insulting to women but Santa's cheer is?

Did you read the WHOLE piece, or just the sensational headline? Here, word per word, is the final paragraph:
A local spokesman for the US-based Westaff recruitment firm said it was "misleading" to say the company had banned Santa's traditional greeting and it was being left up to the discretion of the individual Santa himself.

What the hell has this article got to do with the "woman's movement?"

The woman's movement lost my attention from the start when they insulted motherhood and men. People with common sense should have laughed them back into their holes. That was the beginning of the 'movement' now people think its the norm. .and it gets worse because most people won't say that is so stupid or get a life.. and if you don't like something go make a city with like minded individuals and get out of our faces!

Santa can't even Say Ho, Ho, Ho now. Lovely. Soon we'll have to rely on non-verbal communication just to 'speak' with each other as all spoken words will have the potential to offend someone.

People need to grow thicker skins.
