B. Dutch. It was called New Amsterdam at the time, but was conquered by the British in 1664 and renamed New York.

B. Dutch As was my first ancestor that came to this land. He came to New Amsterdam (the city later renamed New York) in 1659 on the ship De Trouw. He did not settle in the city but went farther up the Hudson River to present day Kingston, NY.

At the time, colony was New Holland but as was stated by another answer it was turned over to the British in 1664 and renamed New York.
