Probally, but you should not base it on 1 game. Just take a look at his past, not beating ohio st. in the last 5 years and losing bowl game every year lately. OK FIRE HIM

I really don't understand this. Lloyd Carr is 113-36 from 1995 through 2006. 5 conference championships and one NC title. One of the better winning percentages of any Michigan coach in the modern era. No doubt the loss to Appy State was a shock and perhaps this team has underachieved somewhat compared to where everyone thought they would be. Injuries have hurt them. Good lord, they are 8-3 and 6-1 in conference and competing for the Big 10 title. What more do you want?
If Carr wants to retire, then that is his choice. Michigan fans need only to look at Nebraska or Texas A&M to see bad coaching. For my part, I am not a Michigan fan, but I respect Carr and the Michigan team and Michigan legacy.
If he does retire, I say "good luck coach and thanks for all the great football." I sincerely hope that Michigan finds a new coach that can fill his shoes (and I don't think that is Miles).
As a long time OU and Cal fan, all I can say to Michigan fans is... careful what you wish for, you might end up with somebody like Snellenberger.

It could and it definitely should. The BCS was supposedly set up to match the #1 team with the #2 team in the country. I am an alumnus of OSU and I am here to tell you that Michigan is the second best team in the country regardless of what USC, Florida, or any other team does including Notre Dame. Michigan spanked ND, Oregon State beat USC and Florida couldn't beat OSU if we sent in the scrubinis. Michigan lost by three points in a very high scoring game against the best team in the country. The game was the best college game played in years. Any other match up will just be some team being fed to Buckeyes for what will surely be a slaughter and an anti-climatic game to the OSU-Michigan game played last week. Signed, I still hate Michigan!

No.
And the rumor has it he is stepping down win/lose or draw.
I see more posts about Michigan here than any other place.
He will probably announce after the Ohio game or Monday.......they are speculating that Miles will be offered the job.
I am with you Beagle, I don't have good feelings about Miles. I think Michigan needs to look around and not just hand someone the job.
