I dropped EVERYTHING to devote all my time to studying for the MCAT. I finished my masters degree early just so that I wouldn't have classes or work interfering with my studies.

I took the Princeton Review Hyperlearning courses, studied with my classmates and drilled with practice problems. We took turns downloading old MCAT tests (available at http://www.aamc.org ) and photocopying them for each other. We had timed practice MCATs.

It helps to read a lot of current events so you will have something intelligent and real to say during the essay portion of the exam. Check out the NY Times, Time Magazine, CNN, and the Wall Street Journal online or in print.

And to keep myself sane, I exercised regularly and meditated.
