I like Cheye for short. It is cute. Unfortunately your husband is the one who get the other vote, not us. See if you can work out a compromise.

I think it is going to date itself. By that I mean that a lot of the "trendy" names are going to go way out. Also, consider how the name will sound on a little girl, kind of cute, and also on an adult, kind of tragic.
That being said, if you love that name then you should definitely go for it and try to convince hubby. You could always give her a more traditional name for her middle name.

i think its okaii , but a bit hard to pronounce, but that again it really dosent matter THAT much. and dont worry your not ruining your childs life or anything by choosing a name some may be unphased by , as it seems people automatically go on defence mode they minute they hear a name that isnt deathly boring and overused such as: sarah, jennifur, michelle...etc etc (sorry if thats ur name).and ive NEVER met anyone whos had their lives ruined due to a name, unless your names like "loser lane"! your child will be glad to have a unique name! if ur doubting search for other baby girl names! goodluck!!

Sorry, I'm with your husband.
Cheyenne is one of those names that has a whiff of stripper about it. If you want your little girl to have a cowgirl cool name without investing in Fisher-Price's My First G-String and Pole Set, consider:
Laramie
Georgia
Carolina
Cassidy
Good luck!

The fact that your husband hates it means ditch it. Doesn't matter what stranger's think. There are so many great names out there so why try to force one down his throat?
p.s Cheyenne Is okay, but kind of hippy dippy.

Cheyenne is a dog's name. Don't do that do your child, people will always tell that they've known a dog named Cheyenne.
Not cool.

I agree with quietgirl. It's a hyper trendy name right now, but in ten years it might be considered tacky. Personally, I'm not for cutesy names for kids - consider how their names will affect them when they're adults, perhaps professionals.

I don't care for it. Naming your child Cheyenne, Dakota, or any other Native American tribe name is like naming your kid a country name such as Italy, Canada, Liberia, etc.
