Some weeks ago I posted a question about a pimple in my groin area which I thought had something to do with me having my period and some irritation from the sanitary napkin. However, 4 weeks later, it's still present and while the head of the 'pimple' appears to have broken and it doesn't hurt anymore, it's still hard around that area.

I'm starting to worry as to whether it is anything serious (like a cyst or lump) or just a pimple which will take time to go away. I've been applying an anti-pimple cream daily. Like I said, it doesn't hurt anymore but did till last week.

Please help. Thanks.

You need to apply triple antibiotic ointment. It should go away faster than anything.

If it doesn't go away after that, than maybe you should call your doctor.

Most of the stuff you see on T. V about acne and having perfect skin is not true. If it prevents you from getting pimples and acne then EVERYONE will start buying it. What you want to look for in a product is if it lets you "have fewer breakouts". Don't buy all that stuff like clearasil or any of that crap. They just clog up your pores. Just get sunblock that doesn't nurture acne. Get a prescription for a benozyl peroxide gel product called Benza Clin . It helps. But for like most prescribed products , you need to give it a bout 1-2 months worth to see if it works. Best wishes.

While it took little less than two months for me to really see a difference, my acne, blackheads and whole lot of other skin problems I had such as eczema had completely cleared! It was totally amazing...

Yes, it could still be a pimple but I would recommend seeing your doctor for further evaluation to see what they think.

Diabetics often get this...
Get your blood tested and if the glucose level is high, show your groin to your doctor...

Could be an ingrown hair. Do you shave down there?
