I know where you're coming from.
When I was 15, a girl approached me at the studio where I was taking dancing lessons (I'm a gurlie girl too btw). As much as I'd like to befriend her too, her breath was too repulsive that my grandma who was waiting for me at the lobby almost called an ambulance to save me from gagging.
I just hope people with stinky breaths would learn how to be considerate.

Because they are friendly people whom doesn't have a clue they have bad breath.Maybe you could offer some Tic Tacs or a piece of mint gum.
